About Us
At Natural Beginnings, we do more than just see patients day in and day out. Every day we build community…and this community is filled with women who feel seen, heard and respected.
We are a thriving, innovative group of midwives offering many options for care while also managing to keep our “small town” vibe.
Our mission is to empower women to be in control of their health and healthcare experiences, to encourage women that they are worthy to love themselves as well as they love those that surround them, and to do this through encouragement, not fear.
Nicole Winecoff, CNM
I love my career as a Certified Nurse Midwife and meeting wonderful families who allow me to be a part of their birth experience! When I am not at work I enjoy time with my husband and our two girls, Ashley and Hannah. We love to take family vacations and explore new places! We love to cruise with Disney! Life as a Midwife takes many hours away from my family so we make the most of vacation time!

For as long as I can remember, I have known that being a Midwife was my path. I feel so lucky that I get to help bring life into the world every day, and to be a woman supporting women. When I’m not working, I spend as much time as possible outside with my fiancee, Jeromy, crafting, playing with my toddler and snuggling my fur babies.

Midwifery, to me, is a calling and a unique vocation to be with and hold space for women and their families in some of their most vulnerable and sacred moments. After working as a labor and delivery nurse for four years in the hospital, I have had the privilege of holding space for women as a CNM since2018 and have had the honor of being welcomed into birth spaces in homes, hospitals, and multiple free-standing birth center settings. One of the aspects of midwifery I love most is the chance to partner with women in their health and wellness journeys. I have training in Natural Family Planning (NFP) and am a trained Fertility Education and Medical Management (FEMM) Provider. With this training, I am able to help women who may have hormonal imbalances affecting daily life or fertility. I also hold a certification in Clinical Homeopathy (from CEDH) and am working towards certification in Herbalism to be able to recommend natural and safe options for health and wellness. I’m excited to be at NBBWC where I can provide holistic care and be part of a like-minded team. In my spare time, you may find me reading, hiking, traveling and exploring new cultures, gardening, or making herbal tea.

Empowering, educating, and caring for women throughout their lifespan has been my passion for as long as I could remember. I am so grateful to be a midwife and care for women every day. I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters, Stormy and Avery. I love traveling to new places and when not working can be found at the dance studio watching my girls.

Becoming a midwife has been the fulfillment of a life long dream. I am a graduate of East Carolina University. I feel truly honored and humbled to be a part of the team at Natural Beginnings, and to be a small part of so many journeys to parenthood and beyond. I have a passion for caring for the LGBTQ+ community, and my main goal as a midwife is to ensure that people and families of all kinds feel empowered, educated, and well-informed about their bodies, helping them to feel comfortable and confident when making informed decisions about their care. When I am not in the office or catching babies, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Katie, our dog, Maple, and our three cats. I also enjoy reading a good book, baking, musical theater, and traveling!

I have always known that being a Midwife was what I was meant to do with my life. I am a graduate of Frontier University. I am very passionate about mental health and enjoy helping my patients work through all the stressors that come with pregnancy and labor. Outside of being a Midwife, I enjoy traveling and spending plenty of time outdoors with my husband and our two sons.

I am passionate about empowering women through prenatal care and ensuring that all women have access to the care that they deserve. My goal is to empower, educate and help women to make wise, intuitive choices surrounding their health. I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. I enjoy traveling to new places, but there’s definitely no place like home. If I’m not working you will usually find me at the soccer field cheering on my kids.

I graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with my BSN in 2012 and have spent the last 8 years in women’s health. I have always had a passion for women’s health and am was excited to be further that passion by graduating from Frontier Nursing University as a women’s health nurse practitioner in 2019. At NBBC I am thrilled to be doing well woman care as well as seeing patients for prenatals and other types of visits. Most of my spare time is spent with my fiancé, Adam, and our amazing kids, Acadia and Rhett. Our favorite thing to do together is taking walks on the dirt road we live on to see/pet the neighboring farm animals. I also enjoy traveling, learning about other cultures, and reading.”
Amber Dobbins, FNP
I graduated from Western Carolina University in 2021 with a Master's Degree in Nursing. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and have always felt passionate about the Pediatric field. Prior to becoming an FNP, I worked as a RN for 10 years in multiple disciplines. I have always enjoyed empowering women to take control of their healthcare; to listen to their body, and to find a provider to listen to them. I feel that Natural Beginnings Birth and Wellness allows me to empower, advocate, and work with our patient's to discuss and plan their healthcare.
In addition, I am a wife and mother of two children who keep me very busy! We love to travel, Kayak, go on hikes, garden, and learn about nature. I am very excited to be a part of the NBBWC Team!
