About Us

At Natural Beginnings, we do more than just see patients day in and day out.  Every day we build community…and this community is filled with women who feel seen, heard and respected.

We are a thriving, innovative group of midwives and nurse practitioners offering many options for care while also managing to keep our “small town” vibe.

Our mission is to empower women to be in control of their health and healthcare experiences, to encourage women that they are worthy to love themselves as well as they love those that surround them, and to do this through encouragement, not fear.

I  love my career as a Certified Nurse Midwife and meeting wonderful families who allow me to be a part of their birth experience! When I am not at work I enjoy time with my husband and our two girls, Ashley and Hannah. We love to take family vacations and explore new places! We love to cruise with Disney! Life as a Midwife takes many hours away from my family so we make the most of vacation time!

While being a Midwife is my passion, when I’m not working I love spending time with my two children. We enjoy hiking and taking cruises to tropical destinations! I also enjoy running and spending time with my family and my fur baby, Ben.

I am passionate about empowering women through prenatal care and ensuring that all women have access to the care that they deserve. My goal is to empower, educate and help women to make wise, intuitive choices surrounding their health. I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children. I enjoy traveling to new places, but there’s definitely no place like home. If I’m not working you will usually find me at the soccer field cheering on my kids.

Empowering, educating, and caring for women throughout their lifespan has been my passion for as long as I could remember. I am so grateful to be a midwife and care for women every day. I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters, Stormy and Avery. I love traveling to new places and when not working can be found at the dance studio watching my girls.

For as long as I can remember, I have known that being a Midwife was my path. I feel so lucky that I get to help bring life into the world every day, and to be a woman supporting women. When I’m not working, I spend as much time as possible outside with my husband, Jeromy, crafting, playing with my kiddo's and snuggling my fur babies.

Midwifery, to me, is a calling and a unique vocation to be with and hold space for women and their families in some of their most vulnerable and sacred moments. After working as a labor and delivery nurse for four years in the hospital, I have had the privilege of holding space for women as a CNM since2018 and have had the honor of being welcomed into birth spaces in homes, hospitals, and multiple free-standing birth center settings. One of the aspects of midwifery I love most is the chance to partner with women in their health and wellness journeys. I have training in Natural Family Planning (NFP) and am a trained Fertility Education and Medical Management (FEMM) Provider. With this training, I am able to help women who may have hormonal imbalances affecting daily life or fertility. I also hold a certification in Clinical Homeopathy (from CEDH) and am working towards certification in Herbalism to be able to recommend natural and safe options for health and wellness. I’m excited to be at NBBWC where I can provide holistic care and be part of a like-minded team. In my spare time, you may find me reading, hiking, traveling and exploring new cultures, gardening, or making herbal tea.

I am so excited for the opportunity to work as a CNM. I started my nursing career in labor and delivery and knew empowering women to bring their babies earth side safely was my calling. I continued to focus my learning and experience in OB/GYN working as a FNP for the last 3 years. My goal as a CNM is to provide compassionate, evidence based care for women and families throughout pregnancy and all life’s moments. It is an indescribable honor to have the privilege of guiding someone through one of the most precious times in their life. When I am not working, you can likely find me curled up with a good book, snuggling my fur babies, or listening to my husband talk about his grass.

My journey to midwifery has come from my own experiences as a woman and a mother, along with a need to serve and care for others. Those experiences have shaped the way I practice and the kind of provider I want to be. I want women to feel comfortable with me, to feel heard, and to know they have a voice in their care. I’m passionate about women’s health, informed decision-making, and providing compassionate, evidence-based care. I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do this work and for the trust women and families place in me during such important moments in their lives.
Outside of midwifery, I’m a wife and mom to three boys and two girls, and my husband and I make a pretty great team navigating our busy life together. I’m happiest with a good cup of coffee (and preferably some chocolate), trying a new restaurant, getting lost in a good book, or working on a knitting project. I also love cooking, going to the movies, exploring new places, and spending time in nature.

Amber Dobbins, FNP

I graduated from Western Carolina University in 2021 with a Master's Degree in Nursing. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and have always felt passionate about the Pediatric field. Prior to becoming an FNP, I worked as a RN for 10 years in multiple disciplines. I have always enjoyed  empowering women to take control of their healthcare; to listen to their body, and to find a provider to listen to them. I feel that Natural Beginnings Birth and Wellness allows me to empower, advocate, and work with our patient's to discuss and plan their healthcare. In addition, I am a wife and mother of two children who keep me very busy! We love to travel, Kayak, go on hikes, garden, and learn about nature. I am very excited to be a part of the NBBWC Team!

Amber Clement, FNP-BC

I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and have been part of the Natural Beginnings team for over 13 years. I started here as a registered nurse, and over time, my passion for caring for patients and families led me to return to school in 2023 to earn my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Carson-Newman University. I have a special love for both pediatrics and women’s health. I enjoy walking alongside children as they grow and develop, and I’m passionate about supporting women through every stage of life. Being able to build meaningful relationships with my patients and care for entire families over time is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. Outside of the office, I love spending time with my husband, Al, and our family—our son, Darrius, and his wife, Savannah, our daughter, Kylia, and our grandson, August. In my free time, you’ll often find me traveling, gardening, canning, or attending church.

Julia Bolick, CPNP-CP

I’m a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a passion for caring for children. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Doctor of Nursing Practice degrees from UNC Chapel Hill (Go Heels!). From before beginning nursing school, I was drawn to pediatrics because of children’s incredible resiliency, curiosity, and fun personalities leading me to fulfill my nursing career in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Brenner Children’s Hospital.
As a PNP, my goal is to build lasting relationships with patients and families throughout childhood and adolescence, while providing compassionate, evidence-based care. I strive to make every child and family feel comfortable, heard, and supported—and to be a trusted and reliable resource during the challenging and uncertain moments that can come with caring for a child. Outside of the clinic, I love traveling, playing golf and pickleball, and spending time with friends and family, and my two precious golden retrievers. I’m excited to get to know your family and be part of your child’s healthcare journey!
